Next came the dramatic Talk Over Dinner on the Little Platform in the Middle of Water. ''It's like you swooped in and rescued me at the right time,'' Frank said of his getting a one-on-one date as his neuroticism peaked. Then he engaged in some rather curious rambling about how he wants to propose only once in his life, and he's been very choosy, and that's why he's so old like over 30 and still single, and ''How confident can you be? You can never be 100 percent, I know.''
Perhaps it was that weirdness, or just intuition, that prompted Ali to say, ''I think my relationship with you scares me. I feel nervous.'' Foreshadowing alert, according to the preview scenes! Nonetheless, he, of course, got the rose, and could breathe easy again.
Rose Ceremony: Ali gets decisive
The way the guys acted when they heard Ali had made the apparently MONUMENTAL decision to NOT HAVE A COCKTAIL PARTY, you'd think they hadn't just witnessed a guy walking off the show because his two girlfriends back home were revealed in an on-screen phone call from a random former Bachelor contestant. I mean, really, was it that dramatic that Ali had made up her mind and they didn't get to drink champagne before they got their boutonnieres? It made me feel for Craig, though, as the continued harping on how much she'd made up her mind made it impossible to even pretend cutting him was a hard decision. ''I feel like I've had a connection with every guy here but one,'' Ali said.
He was classy in his good-bye with Ali, though, and she explained matter-of-factly, ''I just feel like the romance or something was missing between us.'' Fair enough. Here's to hoping Craig finds a good girlfriend. Maybe Justin has a spare (or two).
What did you think, Bachelorette fans? Was the Justin confrontation everything you'd hoped for? Did your opinion of Ty change with his date? Will you miss Craig? Will you switch to olive oil for all your wrestling needs?
