LET'S GET ON WITH IT Look at these clowns!
And finally: Nappytabs' incredible "Puttin' on the Ritz" opening group number. Good God! Not only will it never get old for me, but it was so cool to see that again on the night of the finale now that we know these kids so much better. Fik-Shun's "jutting his head between his hands" vertical wall move (there has GOT to be a better way to phrase that) was a hidden gem I'd not noticed before. Jasmine definitely stood out as the sharpest and most facially engaged girl whenever she danced in a group. The choreography and camera work were just so freaking spot on. Let's all watch it again.
After all that rehashing, "Rock Lobster" featuring the Top 10 and the All-Stars was icing on the cake -- a sprinkling of magical sand into a suddenly seizure-inducing laser field of intent tumblers. I'm about to watch it over and over and pick out new favorite moments, but for now: Aaron and Fik-Shun "surfing" on solid stage, Robert Roldan commanding the stage with a seemingly effortless sultriness, and Allison Holker at all times. I vote for an all-All-Star season next summer. Winners excluded (but of course they can guest). What's to lose?
Your thoughts on the finale? Are you glad Nigel divulged that a girl got the most votes, or did that diminish Fik-Shun's win and make Jasmine want to crawl into a hole?
'Til next season... I'll be watchin' this... Puttin' on the glitz for Monday's DWTS premiere. Join me, won't you?
