So now that April and Matthew have hit a rough patch, will she go running back to Jackson? Better question: Will he have time for her? Poor Jackson spent nearly the entire episode trying to dodge proposals just long enough to be an actual doctor, only to learn that he lost the right to make any proposals himself. As Richard put it, "Your project is this hospital." And what else did the oh-so-wise Richard teach the young grasshopper? If someone offers to pay for his dinner and chew his ear off about an idea, he should say yes. And so Jackson and his mother's lover went off to grab some dinner.
As Richard chewed Jackson's ear off at some restaurant -- which I'm sure was very fancy -- Meredith continued to chew Derek's ear off about her potential Alzheimer's and the fact that she wanted to die the moment she so much as forgot her keys. And when Derek's promise to kill her didn't feel honest, she went to Cristina, who swore to lethally inject her as soon as any signs of Alzheimer's start to show. The best quote of the night goes to Cristina, who proved that the twisted sisters are not a thing of the past with this one-liner: "You had me at lethal injection."
Derek, however, wasn't going down without a fight. In order to calm his wife, he had his genes mapped, and it turned out that his "maybes" included liver cancer, prostate cancer, heroin addiction and male pattern baldness. If Derek losing his hair didn't freak Meredith out, nothing would. My opinion? Make that man a heroin addict before you take his hair. Derek losing his hair would go down as the most tragic Grey's loss ever -- and I'm including Mark and Lexi and George. Sorry, I got a little carried away at the thought of a bald McDreamy. Let's just hope baldness doesn't run in Patrick Dempsey's family.
In the trend of getting carried away, April went a tiny bit crazy after being mom-blocked by Matthew and stole a bunch of supplies from the hospital to give to her new bestie, the Syrian doctor. I'm sure that will come back to bite her at some point, but for now, I'm more worried about Bailey. What did she do that caused a life-threatening infection in three of her patients? Could Bailey get fired?! And what about Owen and Cristina? Are they about to head back down the road of no return for their relationship: discussing children? And where were Jo and Alex this episode? Things are not looking good for our favorite doctors right now. As Meredith put it, "The truth is more than you can bear."
