Of course, Kitty and Co. were en route to pick up Justin, who's expected to have a full but long recovery from the knee injury he suffered in Iraq. The former drug addict insisted he won't take painkillers, which was, and will continue to be, excruciating to watch. Justin's scene with Robert not only showed that the senator understood that being there for your family is never "irresponsible" (I'm over that soulless speechwriter already) but also helped to explain why Justin would put himself through hell. After his first tour, he used drugs to forget what he saw, what people are capable of. He's afraid if he numbs part of himself, he'll want to not feel anything. Robert told him that you honor the dead by not forgetting, but he didn’t tell him how you live with those memories. It's a heavy responsibility that this show has taken on — to give us one answer through Justin, while also reminding us that soldiers aren't the only ones who need to be strong when they return broken. So do those they cling to.
Here are a few questions for you to weigh in on below:
1. How should the writers balance the many story lines set in motion for season 2? Translation: Should Julia go bye-bye?
2. Would you like to see Senator McCallister visit The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, which received a shout-out in this episode?
3. Do you want Rebecca to keep living with Nora? Seems to me Justin would want her there.
4. Was Robert's speech about the liberal Walker family being his greatest asset as convincing as that look of revelation on Reeves' face made it appear? (If so, maybe we can book Robert on The O'Reilly Factor.)
