Finally, we have Kez Ban's group. "One of our quirkiest contestants!" boomed Ryan. Painful! Basically Kez Ban is much less charming when she's not performing well -- her a cappella round performance was a nightmare due to a cold, and then she refused to sing any song that she felt would cheapen her in the group round. I totally understand where she's coming from, but defiance of this sort when three other people's fates are on the line is pretty selfish.

Surprise, though -- The Misfits ended up choosing and truly vibing on "Be My Baby" – and Kez Ban even got a spotlight drunken-sailor wail at the end. I am dying to hear her solo tonight because her original audition was among my faves. But with that extra hoarseness in her voice, I doubt things will go well.

Breanna Steer, Angela Miller, and Janelle Arthur advanced along with Kez Ban. Janelle was the clear standout tonight with her smooth, very listenable, Leann Rimes-esque vocal, and from the previews it looks like Angela will have a Colton Dixon-on-overdrive (if such a thing is even possible!) moment on the piano during tonight's solos.

Overall I expected more from this gigantic girly ep -- but I'm more excited than I've been all season for the ladies' solos, so that's a plus. Nicki, what did you think of everyone?
